This post is prompted by a Courier-Journal article about the Louisville Ballet which appeared on December 17. The article stated that “both the Ballet and the Kentucky Center for the Arts have no-refund policies.”
The Box Office at The Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts is most often operating as the ticketing agency for an outside client. Clients can be promoters bringing a tour into town or one of our local production companies, like the Louisville Ballet.
Therefore, when a patron is seeking a refund for a ticket purchase,the final decision is left to the presenting company, rather than The Kentucky Center box office. Our box office is bound by the client's refund policy.
Therefore, all matters of refunds rest with the promoter or producing company itself, rather than The Kentucky Center Box Office.
