Diana Krall will release GLAD RAG DOLL, a recording of dancehall tunes from the 1920s and 30s, in October.
GLAD RAG DOLL, inspired by 78rpm records Krall heard played in her home as a child, is her first collaboration with legendary producer T. Bone Burnett (think OH BROTHER, WHERE ART THOU soundtrack).
The arrangement of the first single, "There ain't no sweet man that's worth the salt of my tears," has a loopy Tom Waits feel to it. Listen here.
Krall's previous recording, QUIET NIGHTS, won a Grammy in 2009.
