The Kentucky Center Hosts BOURBON CLASSIC 2013
New Event Plays on Bourbon Trends & Heritage
Love bourbon? Love Kentucky? Then you’ll love the BOURBON CLASSIC, March 22 – 23, at The Kentucky Center. Must be 21 to enter.
This weekend event designed to showcase the best in the world of bourbon is getting a lot of positive press. “Short of actually diving into a whiskey barrel, it’s hard to imagine a more immersive experience for bourbon lovers,“ writes Garden and Gun Magazine.
The BOURBON CLASSIC honors Kentucky’s long-standing love affair with bourbon, in cocktails, cooking, and popular culture. It kicks off Friday evening, March 22, with the COCKTAIL CHALLENGE, where bartenders and chefs team up to create classic and contemporary cocktails paired with bourbon-inspired dishes.
The Saturday line-up includes educational sessions such as “How the Barrel Influences the Bottle,” taught by Al Young of Four Roses Bourbon; “Crafting the Perfect Cocktails and Serving them Right,” with Silver Dollar Saloon’s Larry Rice and Josh Durr of Hawthorne Beverage; and the “Ultimate Bourbon Experience,” featuring tastings, exhibits, and a marketplace of bourbon-themed wares.
Both nights feature after-parties and a VIP lounge. More information on the event lineup can be found at www.bourbonclassic.com.
Tickets are available through The Kentucky Center box office online, by phone (502.584.7777), and in-person at the counter and drive-thru.
