We are so fortunate at The Kentucky Center to have dedicated volunteers who go above and beyond to serve our community. Their constant support and love for the arts helps us reach out and share the arts with a wider audience.
Volunteers Danny Robertson (shown above holding the poster) and Bill Stangel (in the green hat) teamed up to provide an opportunity for students at Gilmore Lane Elementary to see Disney’s The Lion King. Danny’s total volunteer hours at the Center earned a number of complimentary seats for a performance at The Kentucky Center. An alumnus of Gilmore, Danny reached out to teacher and fellow volunteer Bill to decide how to turn his seats into an opportunity for students at the school.
Bill created a ticketing contest the students could enter. Students qualified for entries in the drawing each time they read a book. Congratulations to those lucky students and to Danny and Bill for being shining examples of the goodwill and community involvement that is part of our mission at The Kentucky Center.
