CLASSICAL MUSICIANS (AGES 8 - 18) WANTED FOR NPR’S FROM THE TOP 2016 LIVE PERFORMANCE AT THE KENTUCKY CENTER

DETAILS: NPR’s From the Top with host Christopher O’Riley showcases America's best classical musicians ages 8 to 18 who have not yet graduated from high school. Local classical music students are encouraged to audition for From the Top’s 2016 performance at The Kentucky Center’s Gheens Great Expectations Extravaganza concert on Wednesday, Feb. 3. Solo performers of classical music on all instruments, composers and vocalists, as well as instrumental or vocal ensembles are welcome. The Gheens Great Expectations Extravaganza will feature a performance by NPR’s From the Top with host Christopher O’Riley, as well as a Side-by-Side performance of the Louisville Orchestra and Louisville Youth Orchestra, not part of the broadcast. The Gheens Great Expectations Extravaganza concert is part of The Kentucky Center’s Gheens Great Expectations program, which brings some of the world’s finest young classical musicians to Louisville for performances and residencies that focus on engaging and inspiring youth.
