This event brings to life the marching band traditions of Historically Black Colleges and Universities, featuring bold rhythms, riveting beats and thunderous, soul-grabbing sounds of the drums.
The Da ‘Ville Classic is Metro Louisville’s premiere community drumline showcase. While allowing local youth to strut their stuff in a non-competitive environment, the event also serves as a recruiting platform for participating schools like Simmons College of Kentucky, Lincoln University (Jefferson City, MO) and Clark Atlanta University (Atlanta, GA). The Da ’Ville Classic Drum Line Showcase features community, high school and Historically Black College & University drum lines from Kentucky, Ohio, Missouri, Georgia, Indiana and Illinois.
Weather permitting - Immediately following the stage performance, there will be a drum line battle on Main Street in front of The Kentucky Center.
As of 4.25.2016, participating squads include: River City Drum Corps , Farnsley Middle School, East High School, Saints, Boom Squad, 3DI, TPE, IU Southeast, Simmons College of Kentucky, Clark Atlanta University, and Lincoln University.
