Have you ever wondered what it would be like to travel on the road with the national touring company of a Broadway musical? BEAUTIFUL - The Carole King musical runs May 16-21 at The Kentucky Center (Louisville). Three alumni of The Kentucky Center Governor's School for the Arts (GSA) have been cast in the production since the tour began. Read the Courier-Journal interview with them here.
The core component of The Kentucky Center Governor's School for the Arts is a three-week summer residency program with specific fields of study for high school students, including the area of musical theater. GSA has hosted about 5,700 students since 1987. Students who apply and are accepted receive instruction from experts and professionals in their fields to learn about the art form and about navigating their paths into higher education and pursuing art as a vocation and career. This summer, from June 18 - July 8, more than 250 students will participate on the campus of Centre College in Danville.
