On January 27, Kentucky Center president Kim Baker participated in LISTEN! Feminine Wisdom, a launch event at Louisville’s historic Brown Theatre for the 23rd annual Festival of Faiths which will take place April 24-28 at The Kentucky Center and Cathedral of the Assumption.
Part of a dynamic roster of women in leadership roles across our community, Kim spoke about the importance of feminine role models in her life – and the influence these pivotal women have had on her life’s trajectory as well as her leadership style.
From her grandmother, a young widow left to run a farm on her own, Kim learned the value of hard work, the joy of routine, and to appreciate the beauty of the natural world. From her mother, Kim inherited a love of the arts and learned to appreciate experiences over material things. Kim’s ability to listen was honed by years spent playing an instrument in music ensembles, including her participation in the Governor’s School for the Arts.
