Each year Kentucky Center volunteers donate more than 60,000 hours of friendly, helpful service to our patrons at the Center, the historic Brown Theatre on Broadway, and Iroquois Amphitheater.
Volunteering is a great way to meet new people who share your love of live arts and entertainment, plus experience a wide variety of performances.
Become an Audio Description Volunteer!
Do you enjoy a wide variety of art forms, have a pleasant, clear voice, and a rich vocabulary?
This is a unique opportunity for people interested in enhancing the experience of our patrons who are blind, have low vision, or who are otherwise visually impaired.
Through Audio Description, the patron receives an in-ear feed of live commentary from a specially-trained Kentucky Center volunteer.
Audio Description provides access to the visual elements of a performance, including stage action, costuming, lighting, etc.
The Kentucky Center provides this service for a variety of art forms, including opera, theatre, and dance.
Pre-Registration Required! Contact Toby Roberts via email or at (502) 566-5211 by August 11.
