Kentucky high school students are invited to register now for Kentucky Center Governor's School for the Arts ARTSHOPS at various locations across the state.
Each fall, The Kentucky Center Governor's School for the Arts (GSA) schedules five workshops - ArtShops - in communities throughout Kentucky. The purpose of these ArtShops is to provide high school freshmen, sophomores and juniors with the opportunity to spend a day in a facility close to their hometown in a hands-on arts enrichment experience.
Students must be residents of Kentucky and attend a Kentucky high school or home school to participate. There is a registration fee of $5 to supplement the overall cost of the ArtShop. The events will be led by GSA faculty members and guest artists.

In the fall of 1997, the Governor’s School for the Arts began a statewide outreach initiative with the funds from the General Assembly of the Commonwealth. This outreach took the form of ArtShops. During these one-day workshops, held at locations around the state each fall, students choose an art form to specialize in from GSA’s core offerings of architecture + design, creative writing, dance, drama, instrumental music, musical theatre, new media, visual art and vocal music. Interested students are also encouraged to apply to the summer program, occurring June 19 – July 9, 2016.
