The Kentucky Center welcomed young dancers from its ArtsReach Studio program to Todd Hall yesterday for a modern dance technique workshop conducted by members of the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater.
WHAS11.com was there - and ran a great story (with video) recapping the activity.
Ailey ADT performs tonight in Whitney Hall. Follow this link for ticketing information.
What is ArtsReach?
ArtsReach empowers Louisville community centers to provide quality arts programs to their constituents through training for community center staff, year-round instruction, hands-on workshops, and ongoing professional development through the ArtsReach network and grant opportunities to implement arts programs.
The ArtsReach Studio program provides students with year-round instruction in dance and violin at no cost to their families.
Hundreds of additional youth and families are served through ArtsReach residency workshops, master classes, intensive creative writing workshops and performances at The Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts. The Center's KCARD program makes tickets to select performances available at a greatly reduced price to ArtsReach participants.
Through ArtsReach Kentucky we work with arts organizations and their community partners in the underserved communities of Paducah, Mt. Sterling, Hopkinsville and Ashland. Our goal is to provide arts education and experiences to communities and to expand audiences by broadening, deepening, and diversifying the arts experience.
