Taking the joy and excitement of the arts out into the community is what ArtsReach is all about, and this October marks the end of a remarkably exciting time for ArtsReach in Louisville's California neighborhood.
Starting in June, every Saturday has been ArtsReach Saturday at Victory Park during the Farmers Market. ArtsReach instructors presented workshops and demonstrations, and ArtsReach Studio students performed for enthusiastic residents as they shopped for fresh produce and in some cases, just came out to enjoy the performances.
Among the highlights were an interactive flamenco workshop with Diana Dinicola and Paul Carney, dance performance by Str8Legit, and a martial arts demonstration by Black Tiger Martial Arts and Sensei Gomani.
This entertaining, engaging and educational series of art activities were presented by ArtsReach in the California neighborhood in conjunction with the California Collaborative, a neighborhood revitalization initiative funded by a Change Makers Grant from the Community Foundation of Louisville.
