Description: Alt-country singer/songwriter Todd Snider writes blue-collar anthems tempered by witty optimism. Case in point: he described his 2009 release The Excitement Plan as a "surefire cure for the hard times."
Using songwriting as a lifeline in his battles with addiction and depression, Snider is somehow able to find the humorous upside to the downside of life.
"Todd Snider's songs are paced by an intellectual metronome that's a tick or two ahead of his peers." - NPR, "Song of the Day"
Catherine Irwin, a founding member of the seminal alt-country band Freakwater, is currently working on her second solo album. She will be playing a mixture of songs from her new project, her album Cut Yourself a Switch, etc.
