On October 20, The Dance Theatre of Harlem (DTH) marked its return to the world’s stages after an 8-year hiatus – beginning its national tour at The Kentucky Center. Prior to the performance, The Kentucky Center partnered with DTH to provide a free student matinee lecture-demonstration attended by 2000 JCPS students from sixteen different schools.
The Kentucky Center also helped organize six dance workshops with members of the DTH company, providing instruction to ArtsReach Studio dance students, plus young dancers from Lincoln Elementary, Western Middle, Youth Performing Arts School, Noe Middle, and Pleasure Ridge Park High School.
