One Man Breaking Bad was created as a love letter to fans of the series. Performed by Miles Allen and Directed by Dan Clarkson (director/creator of Potted Potter), the show turns the dark suspense into a laugh-out-loud 75 minute journey for audiences.

With over a million hits on YouTube, and sold-out runs at comedy festivals in Melbourne and Edinburgh, Allen's incredible impersonations break all six seasons down into one, exhilarating, hilarious tour de force parody performance.

Los Lonely Boys, the Texas trio made up of brothers Henry, Jojo, and Ringo Garza, bounces back from adversity with an adventurous recording, REVELATION, a blend of Blues, Rock, Roots and Reggae.

REVELATION is the band's first studio recording since Henry Garza sustained serious injuries from a fall during a 2013 performance. Their 2004 hit "Heaven" reached #1 on Billboard's Adult Contemporary chart and won a Grammy Award for "Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group."

Mother Falcon is an indie symphonic rock band from Austin, Texas, known for their wide-ranging instrumentation and collaborative songwriting. Formed by bandleader Nick Gregg in 2008, the group has grown to include a collective of up to twenty musicians playing strings, horns, guitars, and percussion.

Ben Sollee is an American cellist, singer-songwriter, and composer known for his innovative playing style, genre-bending songwriting, electrifying performances, political activism, and wide appeal.

THE KENTUCKY CENTER FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS RECEIVES $15,000 GRANT FROM THE UPS FOUNDATION

Louisville, Ky. – Wednesday, July 22, 2015 – The Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts has received a $15,000 grant from The UPS Foundation, which drives global corporate citizenship and philanthropic programs for UPS (NYSE: UPS).

The grant will be used toward The Kentucky Center’s ArtsReach program, which provides underserved youth and their families with access to performances and arts education opportunities, so that they may express themselves more fully and become more engaged, compassionate and creative community leaders in the future.

Since 1991, The Kentucky Center’s ArtsReach program has collaborated with generous donors and community centers throughout Metro Louisville to provide quality arts programs with an emphasis on hands-on arts experiences. Through its innovative approach and connection to the cultural heritage of Louisville’s communities, ArtsReach ensures that the arts are no longer an afterthought in the development of healthy, self-assured, dynamic youth and their families.

“The generous support of donors like The UPS Foundation is what makes programs like ArtsReach possible,” said Kim Baker, president of The Kentucky Center. “With this grant, The Kentucky Center will be able to inspire even more deserving Metro Louisville children and their families through the arts.”

Got talent? ArtsReach Dance Ensemble Audition is August 20.

ArtsReach, a Community Arts and Education program of The Kentucky Center, will hold open auditions for its youth Dance Ensemble on Thursday, August 20, at 6pm, in Todd Hall inside the Center (501 W. Main Street, Louisville, 40202).         

Middle and High School students are invited to audition. Interested students should wear comfortable black clothing and come prepared to take a dance class, demonstrating their skills and ability to work with others. 

Those chosen to join the ensemble will study with choreographers Portia White and Marcellus Love, participating in special rehearsals, classes with guest artists, and performances at The Kentucky Center.

The ensemble will meet weekly at the Metro Parks Shawnee Arts and Cultural Center (607 S. 37th Street, Louisville 40211) on Thursdays from 5:30-7:30 p.m. weekly from September 2015 through May 2016.

Sufjan Stevens is a singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and composer known for a wild range of albums, from the lush pop music of The Age of Adz to the experimental noise of Enjoy Your Rabbit.

A preoccupation with epic concepts has motivated two state records (Michigan & Illinois), a collection of sacred and biblical songs (Seven Swans), and the recent release of Carrie & Lowell, written while grieving his mother's death. 

Carrie & Lowell marks Stevens' return to narrative songwriting, and has been described as "a fall-down gorgeous and emotionally devastating masterpiece" by The Guardian and "his best, most classic and pure effort" by Pitchfork.

Singer-songwriter Lee Ann Womack is perhaps best known for her single “I Hope You Dance” (2000) which sold over 3 million copies. Lee Ann won a Grammy Award for her duet “Mendocino County Line” (2002) with fellow Texan Willie Nelson. Generous Gheens Foundation grant will bring NPR's "From the Top" to The Kentucky Center

LOUISVILLE, Ky.— The Gheens Foundation has awarded a grant for $75,000 to help fund the existing Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts program, Gheens Great Expectations. 

The Gheens Foundation’s generous gift will fund expanded concert programming and a partnership with America’s largest national youth classical music showcase, From the Top. The 2016 Gheens Great Expectations concert will feature a side-by-side performance by the Louisville Orchestra and Louisville Youth Orchestra, and a special performance of From the Top. This annual concert is free and open to the public. 

“Through the Gheens Great Expectations program, The Kentucky Center is able to help the community’s youth encounter transformative experiences in the arts,” said Kim Baker, president of The Kentucky Center. “We are proud of this program, and we are excited that this expanded sponsorship will make it possible for us to bring NPR’s From the Top to Whitney Hall at The Kentucky Center.” 

The Gheens Foundation has given The Kentucky Center $1,121,000 in grants since The Center opened in 1983.

The Gheens Great Expectations program brings some of the world’s finest young classical musicians to Louisville for performances and residencies that focus on engaging and inspiring youth. Previous Gheens Great Expectations artists have included pianist Conrad Tao, clarinetist Julian Bliss, violinist Caroline Goulding and violinist Jinjoo Cho, who returned to Louisville earlier this for her third visit as the Gold Medalist in the International Violin Competition of Indianapolis. Program participants interact with national and international artists like these, who serve as role models for youth. 

“Our hearts are warm knowing that our investment will help shape the next generation of artists,” said Barry Allen, president and treasurer of The Gheens Foundation. “We are excited to see the Gheens Great Expectations program grow through its new partnership with From the Top.” 

Over the past two years, The Kentucky Center has partnered with From the Top to extend outreach programs to rural school districts in Morehead and Hazard. This season, The Kentucky Center will bring full program featuring concert-pianist and host Christopher O’Riley to Whitney Hall where the program will be recorded for national broadcasts on National Public Radio.
