NBC News Senior Political Reporter and Louisville native Perry Bacon, Jr. has reported on the most important political developments that have shaped our nation over the past decade and a half. He will share his fascinating insights from the rise of tribalism, or hyper-partisanship, the growing connection between celebrity and political success, and the changing landscape of the media environment created by technology.
This event will also include a conversation between Perry and Congressman John Yarmuth, whom Perry met as a high school student in the days when he was just “a nerdy kid” dreaming big. Together the newsman and the former newspaper publisher will consider the role of journalists and journalism today.
Tickets go on sale Friday, January 13, at 10 a.m., through The Kentucky Center Ticket Service online, by phone (584.7777), and at the box office. Standard tickets are $25, reserved seating, fees apply. $15 student tickets are available in-person only with ID, reserved seating, fees apply.
Kentucky to the World’s mission is to enhance our state’s image at home and beyond by highlighting the talent, ingenuity, and excellence of outstanding men and women with strong Kentucky ties. By doing that, we are a catalyst for inspiring everyone – no matter their age, geography, or circumstance – to promote a positive narrative about Kentucky and to become image changers themselves.
